Advanced Solutions Application Engineer, Brenda Thomas Will Present to the University of Cincinnati

Shaping Young Minds and Sharing Insight through Software Innovation.

Louisville, KY, February 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Advanced Solutions, an Autodesk Platinum Partner and Authorized Training Center (ATC), today announced that Brenda Thomas, Application Engineer, has been invited to present as part of the Construction Documentation & Detailing course at the University of Cincinnati in the School of Advanced Structures.

Brenda was approached by Associate Professor, Afsaneh Ardehali, to join the Construction Documentation & Detailing class on February 25-26, 2013 to present on the utilization of Autodesk Revit Architecture software within construction design. Professor Ardehali shared, “About the course, it is the first construction drawing class. The first half of the term, students have been learning freehand drawing and basic free hand drafting skills. The second half, they will be creating a set of drawings for Farnsworth House with Autodesk Revit that will include: a floor plan, building sections, interior and exterior elevations, perspectives with a stair detail.”

She went on to say, “This lecture is supposed to introduce them to Autodesk Revit, so that they can create the drawings, one step at a time in about five weeks. A brief general understanding, including creating a simple example would be great. The lecture will serve as an introduction for them to learn the most useful things to get them going.”

Brenda Thomas, an Autodesk Certified Instructor (ACI) for the AEC industry, understands the importance of proper education and understanding within 2D and 3D design, documentation and detailing.

“I have enjoyed working with architects and engineers at Advanced Solutions for five years, teaching the tools that will help them to propose and document their designs. When I was presented with the opportunity to introduce Revit to some of the freshman at the University of Cincinnati, I was thrilled. These are the young minds of tomorrow’s architecture. How exciting to introduce the benefits and advantages of Building Information Modeling to help them learn to design, create, and imagine architecture,” Brenda shared.

By sharing her knowledge and experience, Brenda hopes to aid in the required curriculum and training set forth by the University of Cincinnati in the School of Advanced Structures, as well as convey the innovative technology provided by Autodesk and Autodesk Platinum Partner, Advanced Solutions, Inc.
