Samurai Karate Studio to Host Self Defense Workshop

Columbia, SC, February 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor for Samurai Karate Studio, located in Richland Northeast Columbia, South Carolina, announced his school is holding a self defense workshop for women on Monday, February 25th, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Due to the sensitive nature of some of the material, the minimum age for attending this workshop is 13.

"February is teen dating and violence awareness month," explained Feldt, "and we are offering this workshop to not only raise awareness, but to give women the tools to protect themselves."

The workshop will cover facts about assault, attack points, pre-attack indicators and the adrenal response to fear. Time permitting, basic techniques covering striking, kicking and how to defend against wrist grabs and chokes will be taught.

"Part of the mission of our karate school is to serve our community," commented Feldt, "and we are passionate about helping empower women to learn how to defend themselves!"

The workshop is free, however, donations will be gladly accepted.
