Newly Designed Arduino Robots Aim to Inspire Robot Enthusiasts

SuperDroid Robots introduces a line of programmable Arduino robots that are WiFi controlled.

Fuquay Varina, NC, February 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- SuperDroid Robots Inc., a leader in custom professional robotics, announces that it will offer Arduino powered programmable robots. This new robot line uses the top open-source microcontroller brand, Arduino, to provide an affordable robot that is easy for engineers and enthusiasts to program.

"The whole idea of this robot line was to design an affordable robot that's programmable for students and robot hobbyists," says Jason Traud, Lead Electronics Engineer, SuperDroid Robots. "These robots use Arduino open-source micocontrollers and open-source IDE software platform. Robot enthusiasts now have a robot that's affordable and relatively simply to program."

The first Arduino robot designed by SuperDroid Robots is powered by a programmable WiFi control package that features an Arduino Mega R3 controller, Arduino Ethernet Shield, wireless bridge, and custom engineered shield for connecting peripherals. The control package is mounted to the top of a 4WD aluminum chassis fitted with four gear motors.

"Robots are the future and should not be limited to corporations, government departments, or universities," says Traud. "These robots are attainable by anyone interested in robots, yet they are solidy built with only high grade electronics and mechanical components."

The 4WD Programmable Arduino Mega WiFi Robot is now on sale along with a variety of Arduino products.
