Yodel Extends Relationship with Apprentice Supermarket

Hatfield, United Kingdom, February 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Yodel, the UK’s leading parcel delivery company, has extended its relationship with Apprentice Supermarket, a not-for-profit organisation designed to help young unemployed people to develop their skills.

Yodel, which delivers over 150 million parcels a year on behalf of the majority of the UK’s top retailers, initially approached Apprentice Supermarket in May 2012 for sales lead generation for its new service proposition.

The telemarketing project provided young apprentices with valuable work experience, to boost their CVs and complement their NVQs in Logistics. It also helped Yodel to secure new client contracts, adding another 400,000 parcels to the company’s annual volumes.

Following the successful 2012 trial, Yodel has committed to extending the working relationship with Apprentice Supermarket in 2013.

Peter Fisher, Chief Commercial Officer, Yodel commented; “Engaging with Apprentice Supermarket has enabled us to take our service proposition to a broad but targeted audience and secure valuable new business leads.

"It has also supported the communities in which we operate by providing training opportunities for young apprentices, giving them the experience they need to get a firm foothold on the career ladder.

"After encouraging successes in 2012, we are delighted to extend our working relationship in to 2013.”

Andrew Kunman, Managing Director, Apprentice Supermarket, added; “We are delighted to secure the contract with Yodel and the valuable learning experiences it brings to our apprentices.”
