Computer Systems to Invest in 166.320 Euro BGA Component Rework Research Project

Computer Systems laptop service and data recovery laboratories announce the investment of 166.320 Euro on researching an improved BGA component rework method.

Thessaloniki, Greece, March 09, 2013 --(PR.com)-- After 4 years of work experience on the field of BGA component rework for laptop’s motherboard repair, Greek laptop repair and data recovery laboratory Computer Systems announces the investment of 166.320 Euro on BGA rework method research project. The goal of the project is to develop an improved method for BGA component rework with high success rate, to be used by small computer repair laboratories with limited equipment and technical skills. The project is overtaken by Materials Expert Eur Ing Dr Panagiotis Frantzis CEng MIMechE and Electrical & Computer Eng Sotirios Villiotis and will be supported by the experienced engineers, technicians and modern equipment of Computer Systems laboratories. The project is expected to be completed in 36 months. During this time the research team will work on developing a complete step by step BGA rework method supported by appropriate low cost BGA rework equipment and tools as well as a newly developed consumable component which will simplify the BGA reballing process and upgrade the result of the repair by eliminating the main reasons of BGA failure. The result of the project is expected to allow thousands of small computer repair shops to give permanent BGA repair services to their customers without having to invest a fortune on equipment and training.

The research has been co-financed by the European Union and Greece - Operational Program 'Human Resources Development' - NSFR 2007-2013 - European Social Fund (General Secretariat for Research and Technology).
