Minerva Previews First Unified Solution for Multiscreen Television Services Over Both Hybrid and IP Networks at the CableLabs® Winter Conference

Future proof solution enables cable operators to offer whole-home DVR, VOD and multi-screen navigation and playback over both hybrid and pure IP networks.

Orlando, FL, March 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Minerva Networks, a leading provider of software solutions for the delivery of television services, will preview a complete multiscreen solution running simultaneously over a hybrid and a pure IP network infrastructure at the CableLabs Winter Conference this week in Orlando, FL. CableLabs Winter Conference is a private event, open only to cable operators and demonstrating vendors. Built around Minerva’s iTVFusion service management platform, the solution enables cable MSOs with the flexibility to offer advanced television services including whole-home DVR, video on demand and multi-screen video delivery over both their traditional QAM networks as well as through DOCSIS-based infrastructure.

“Cable operators can now use a single service management back-office to deliver enhanced television services while preserving existing investments in access and customer premise equipment,” said Jean-Georges Fritsch, EVP of Products at Minerva. “The solution we are demonstrating today enables a seamless upgrade path to all IP services.”

Future Proof Solution

Minerva’s iTVFusion platform can support the delivery and management of multiple content formats to support the seamless integration of QAM, IP multi-cast, or adaptive bit rate streaming content to set-top boxes and other consumer electronics devices inside or outside the home. Advanced features like whole-home DVR, restart TV, along with a compelling and intuitive user experience can be offered to subscribers equipped with hybrid-IP gateways or cost-effective IP STBs. The Minerva iTVFusion platform is integrated with both legacy and new cloud-based VOD services, and natively support multiscreen navigation and playback of content sourced from either the hybrid home gateway or the cable operator's headend.
