Boston Marathon Tune-Up Event Races to 18th Year
Portsmouth, NH, March 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Piscataqua Savings Bank and Sevigney Lyons Insurance Agency lead the pack as inaugural sponsors.
The 18th Annual Eastern States 20 Mile and 14th Annual Run For The Border Half Marathon are approaching the home stretch leading to this year’s event. The event runs from Portsmouth to Salisbury, drawing elite runners training for the Boston Marathon and bucket listers alike. Running concurrently at 11 AM on Sunday, March 24th, the Eastern States 20 Mile starts behind Portsmouth High School and the Run For The Border Half Marathon starts at Wallis Sands Beach. Both races speed along Route 1A and finish at the Massachusetts border in Salisbury.
“Elite and recreational runners alike are drawn to our flat, fast course and the scenic, refreshing beauty of Route 1A, as well as our tradition of providing a last long training run for many preparing for the Boston Marathon three weeks hence,” said event Founder and Race Director Don Allison. “Every year we share proceeds with seven non-profit and community supporters, so having inaugural sponsors Piscataqua Savings Bank and Sevigney Lyons Insurance Agency ensures we will continue our legacy of giving back.”
