Back to Bags in Brooklyn, NY

Brooklyn Industries Reestablishes Authentic Manufacturing Inside Their Headquarters

Brooklyn, NY, March 13, 2013 --(PR.com)-- One year ago, Brooklyn Industries reintroduced domestic bag manufacturing in Brooklyn, bringing together the design process, locally sourced materials, and meticulous production oversight. Released last year, the Sunny Side tote brought the sewers back to Brooklyn Industries’ headquarters, and back to where the company originally began – one sewer on one machine producing the company’s original design, the Crypto billboard vinyl messenger bag back in 1999.

After one year, several new designs, and a factory expansion at the company’s headquarters in Dumbo, Brooklyn Industries is proud to launch the latest addition to the “Made in Brooklyn” series, the Dumbo Mailbag. Constructed with a nylon outer shell made from U.S. made Cordura® and a recycled vinyl tarp inner lining, the Dumbo Mailbag is a durable and rugged design in the classic Brooklyn Industries messenger shape, favoring simple lines, functionality, and a modern design.

The second addition to the Made in Brooklyn series for 2013 is the premium Montague series, available as a backpack, tote, satchel, or cross body, and available in turquoise, orange, and black. Skilled craftsmen make these utilitarian, polished, and smart designs from the finest quality leather in the U.S. The collection derives its inspiration and namesake from Montague Street in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood, which opens up onto the resplendent Promenade and a view of the city.
