Oak Hill, WV, July 29, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Bring in Labor Day on August 31st with an adventure filled weekend on the New River. This weekend package includes a daily lite breakfast, three nights of camping, and a day of white water rafting followed by a BBQ. Guests can celebrate Labor Day weekend by rafting, and being with friends on the New River for only $130 per person.

“This is a fantastic way for friends and families to celebrate Labor Day!” says Rick Johnson, River Expeditions owner. “White water rafting, camping, BBQ, and free live music at the Red Dog River Saloon add some great ways to enjoy the long weekend. The New River is especially beautiful this time of year, so it’s a great chance for people to experience rafting and nature at its finest.”

The New River features a multitude of scenic and recreational opportunities, such as rafting, kayaking, float trips, fishing and more! The river splits into two distinct sections, allowing all skill levels to enjoy the water. The Upper New River is great for first time rafters and families with children age six and up. This section is great for taking pictures and paddling along the gentle waves, with a few mild rapids. The Lower New River is often referred to as “The Grand Canyon of the East,” with stronger rapids and elements of history that make it a truly amazing experience for the seasoned rafter.

White water rafting consists of travelling down a stretch of river on an inflatable raft. Trips usually last 5-7 hours, including lunch. No experience is necessary on the mild sections of the river, such as the Upper New River. Swimming is not necessary, but is helpful. Each guest receives all the necessary safety equipment: a Coast Guard approved Type V Life Jacket, Paddle, and Helmet.
