Cristen Vaughn of Vaco Raleigh Discusses Job Searching Tips with Meredith College Students

Vaco Senior Accounting and Finance Recruiter Speaks to Accounting, Finance and International Business Students About Finding Employment After College.

Students in attendance included finance, accounting and international business majors.

In her presentation, Vaughn provided students with tips for improving their resumes and discussed the importance of gaining valuable work experience while in college. Topics discussed ranged from learning computer skills that are necessary before starting a job to how social media can be used to assist in finding a job and how to take advantage of networking opportunities, as well as the proper way to conduct a job interview.

As a Senior Accounting and Financial Recruiter at Vaco Raleigh, Vaughn is responsible for identifying and assessing qualified candidates for financial job opportunities. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance and her Master’s Degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Active in the local community, Vaughn launched a networking group, the Wilmington Professional Group, which has more than 700 members. In 2008, she organized the Raleigh Professional Group, which now has more than 500 members. Vaughn is a member of the Junior League of Raleigh.
