Religion Communicators Council Goes Viral

The Nashville Chapter of the Religion Communicators Council gathered at the Church of Scientology for their most recent meeting to learn about the dos and don’ts of internet marketing.

Nashville, TN, March 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Nashville Chapter of Religion Communicators Council (RCC) recently heard from Dan York, Founder and CEO of Stellar E-Marketing, which was recently acknowledged as one of the top five ethical and actionable SEO agencies by SEOmoz. A seasoned entrepreneur, administrative & marketing consultant and Internet marketing expert, York spoke about the basics of search engine optimization.

After explaining advertising techniques such as pay-per-click, York cut right to the basics of what search engine optimization really means and how to get picked up by Google, Yahoo and Bing. “‘Optimization’ means ‘to make better or optimize,’ so what you are doing with search engine optimization is making your website appear better so it is picked up by search engines,” he said.

RCC members found they had many questions for York such as “How do I know which keywords to use?” York recommended Google Keyword Tool as a free option, but he warned that it is not as intuitive as the person working the computer.

The RCC executive committee plans to have many similar types of talks in the future. “Any kind of communicator needs to know about SEO, social media, blogging and websites. It’s the world we live in today,” says Rev. Brian Fesler, President of the Nashville chapter. Fesler says the group plans to bring in professionals from TV news media, blogging, websites, e-newsletters and more.

The Nashville RCC meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 11:30am-1:00pm. Members of the RCC come from many different religions and backgrounds including Baptist, Jewish, Baha’i, Scientology, Muslim and Methodist among others.
