)-- Today, Dexter Industries announces the release of the dLight, a LED lighting system for the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT robotic system. The dLight is a daisy-chainable LED set for the MINDSTORMS system that allows robot builders and LEGO enthusiasts to light and decorate their robots with many colored LEDs. Intended for education and the hobbyist, the company anticipates the dLight will be useful for robot builders who want to bring light to their creations.
The Dexter Industries dLight is the first LED lighting system for the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT. The dLight is a set of bright, programmable Red-Green-Blue (RGB) LEDs for the robotics system that lets users create and customize LED colors, make the LED’s blink at various speeds, and daisy chain lights together to create awesome light-show like effects.
The sensor comes with an adapter, which is an LED itself, as well as 3 satellite LED’s that can all be individually programmed by the user. Software for LEGO’s NXT-G programming system, leJos, RobotC, and NX-C are available.
