Former Soldier Turned Actor Finds Success Through Casting Hub

From deployment to show biz, Jeff Jessner shares his story of success.

Chicago, IL, March 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- After serving 3 years in the Army as an infantryman, standing in the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan, Jeff Jessner was ready for a change. He had always has a passion for acting, but never the time to pursue it. But now that he’s completed his distinguished military service, he turned his sights to acting, wanting nothing more than to have a career in the entertainment industry.

That dream came true shortly after he joined Casting Hub. Jeff watched Casting Hub's exclusive online workshops, which educated him on everything from what to wear, how to prepare a monologue, what to expect during an audition and what marketing materials he would need. He then diligently perused Casting Hub's proprietary iScout feature filled with thousands of acting jobs, sending out submissions.

Jeff quickly received a phone call from the Michael Zucker Agency (MZA) in Los Angeles requesting a meeting. MZA is a full service agency with theatrical, commercial, host, print and children’s departments. They represent talent that has been on prestigious TV shows like True Blood and Desperate Housewives, and in blockbuster movies like The Hangover, Iron Man and Argo.

He was more that excited to fly out there and meet with them. Jeff tells his story of that experience.

“I got the audition at the MZA Agency because I became a member of Casting Hub, and also because I've had my headshots, cover letter and resume completed professionally,” Jeff explains. “MZA was a very comfortable setting. I felt wanted, I felt liked. I felt like someone was trying to get to know me for my own benefit. It was nice. The first interview was basically to look at me and see if they liked my physique, which they did. I was offered representation in the second meeting. We talked about getting more professional photographs taken and taking a commercial workshop, which I have both meetings set up in April.”

“Success means everything to me,” he continues. “I've served my country and have been deployed twice. After being a part of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 22nd Infantry, I have the confidence in myself to push forward and I have never quit anything in my life. My family doesn't know about a lot of what I'm doing at the moment in my life right now but they will, they will.”

Casting Hub is a commercial networking service that helps actors and models find auditions, land their dream job or continue their success in the entertainment industry. Casting Hub has an A+ rating with the BBB.
