Canadian Navy Outfits Fleet with CTRL’s UL101 Ultrasound Detector

Westminster, MD, April 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- CTRL is pleased to announce the Canadian Navy as the next foreign military to authorize and integrate the CTRL UL101 for its fleet. Conversations with the Canadian Navy began in 2010 once they learned of the benefits of the UL101 from the US Navy. Information was shared regarding the successful use of the UL101 for leak detection in the vacuum waste water system, fire suppression, main sea water valves, and more.

Field testing was performed with the UL101 at several locations to verify and determine its capabilities and benefits for the fleet. The UL101 was also tested and used in dockside facilities maintenance with success.

“It was a pleasure to work with Canadian Navy throughout their process,” said Ben Fried, VP of Sales and Marketing at CTRL Systems, Inc. “Information was shared between the organizations at each step from initial testing, adopting of the NSN and authorizations, to training and fielding of the fleet.”

The UL101 will be utilized by various departments in multiple applications. The recommendations were put forth from on-board ship testing and demonstrations. CTRL continues to work with the US and Canadian Navies to expand the use of the UL101 to pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical applications. Field training will begin for the fleet this quarter.

“CTRL prides itself on working with the customer,” said Fried. “Turn-key implementation including identification of applications, measured benefits, training and more is critical to the successful integration of any new technology. Our approach was key to the integration of ultrasound for fleet readiness, safety, and diagnostics. CTRL is honored to help improve fleet readiness with cost-effective technology for air, land, and sea.”
