Network Inventory Software Provides HDD Health Monitoring

Moscow, Russia, April 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- 10-Strike Software has announced an update of 10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer 5.3, an inventory program for creating and maintaining the PC inventory database for Windows networks. The software automatically collects the information on hardware and software installed on company´s computers. It allows a system administrator or IT manager to create various reports, audit software and licenses being used, and track changes in hardware parts and software.

The program provides network administrators and IT staff with a solution for keeping vigilant watch on a company's computer park and being aware of how the computers' operating systems and antivirus programs are being updated, what new software is installed by network users, what shortcuts appear in the startup folders, what new services are installed, and even what hardware is changed. These abilities help the administrators to increase the awareness on processes taking place on the company's computers significantly. The administrator can get notifications about important events and changes via email and prevent a lot of problems before the situation goes out of control.

With the extensive reports provided by the program, IT staff can plan upgrades more accurately and decrease the upgrade costs. The program can find computers with small monitors, low memory installed, or low disk space without wasting time and effort on checking everything manually. The license audit feature helps to count installed applications, check the proper use of licenses and registration keys, and find unlicensed or denied software installed by users.

The most important change in the version 5.3 is the ability of running diagnostics tests and detecting hardware and software problems on enterprise computers. The program can warn the administrator if some HDD is overheated or it is in the critical state and about to fail. The fail prediction is based on the S.M.A.R.T. data retrieved from the computers remotely via WMI. The HDD diagnostics also includes the free space monitoring. Operating systems and software are also being tested for potential problems (the antivirus software should be updated; Windows updates should be enabled, and so on). Having the "problem" report on hands, the system administrator can solve potential problems on the computers improving the entire computer park´s security and preventing data loss.

In addition, the version 5.3 has the improved interface and usability. The developers added a lot of tips and annotations helping a user to start working the program effortlessly.
