CAConrad is a widely known poet who has been published in the Exquisite Corpse and other notable literary magazines nationally and internationally. His work was compared to Allen Ginsberg’s poetry in a Publisher’s Weekly Review of Deviant Propulsion. He has been an active force in the Philadelphia poetry scene for over 20 years and gives public readings frequently in the Philadelphia and New York City areas. The Outspoken appearance will be his first reading in Asheville, North Carolina.

A Publisher’s Weekly reviewer begins with a description of CAConrad’s work as “sexy and outrageous.” CAConrad’s work supplies a steady stream of political observations on class, materialism, and inept leadership in government, an in your face celebration of sexuality, bizarre and delightful observations of Philadelphia street life and scenes, and the celebration of other artistic influences.

Other projects CAConrad has been active in are http://PhillySound.blogspot.com, Frequency Audio Journal, coedited with Magdalena Zurawski, The Kelly Writers House at University of Pennsylvania, and the La Tazza reading series in Olde City, Philadelphia.

CAConrad has another book forthcoming: The Frank Poems, in 2008 by Chax Press. A selection of The Frank Poems was translated into German by Berlin poet Holger, and a bilingual chapbook is now available from Carrie Hunter's YPOLITA Press (http://Conrad.theFRANKpoems.blogspot.com). CAConrad is available to give readings from Deviant Propulsion and other works. Visit http://CAConrad.blogspot.com or email CAConrad13@aol.com to schedule a poetry performance or book signing.

Deviant Propulsion is available online at http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-932360-87-5 or http://CAConrad.blogspot.com, through Amazon.com, local Booksense stores, and bookstores everywhere.
