VT MÄK Launches TurboTraffic, a Web-Based Traffic Simulation Product

Cambridge, MA, April 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- VT MÄK (MÄK), a company of VT Systems, Inc., today announced the launch of TurboTraffic, a web application that allows users to easily create traffic simulations on a map in a web browser.

TurboTraffic allows planners, designers, researchers, and educators to interactively create traffic scenarios. The subscription service lets users log-in and use road networks from anywhere on Earth. By simply adding traffic volumes and adjusting the default traffic controls, a simulation is created in minutes. The results can be saved and also shared through a web link.

TurboTraffic’s simulation engine is hosted in the cloud, giving users an easy-to-use web-based experience - avoiding the high cost of consultants and traffic simulation tools. This accessible approach makes traffic simulation practical for many new applications, including visualizing traffic studies, strengthening bids and proposals with prototype traffic simulations, modeling of traffic flow and queuing in urban design projects, aiding community and business presentations to help clarify and support discussion points, conducting real-time detour planning to respond to incidents in a community, creating plans for special events to manage atypical traffic, and as an aid in the classroom to teach traffic principles.

The road networks in TurboTraffic take advantage of the open source maps to relieve users of the chore of building a base map, the first step in any traffic simulation.
