Transglobal Express Announces Its Proud Support of The Coldest Journey

Bromborough, Wirral, United Kingdom, April 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Transglobal Express is proud to announce its support of the The Coldest Journey, a 2000-mile winter expedition across Antarctica in aid of Seeing is Believing, an international initiative aiming to eliminate avoidable blindness.

Transglobal Express, one of the UK’s leading providers of freight forwarding and international courier services, has been entrusted with the safe transportation of the expedition equipment of the intrepid “Ice Team,” who will face temperatures as low as -90°C on their quest.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes, veteran explorer and pioneer of the project, commented, “Transglobal Express have offered their help to take back the extremely heavy equipment from the expedition to England, both now and at the end of the traverse. This is a huge undertaking and we are extremely grateful to them for helping us out in an hour of need. Without the help of our sponsors, like Transglobal Express, this tremendous endeavour would never have got as far as it has today.”

Lawson Archer, Managing Director of Transglobal Express said, “We are very proud to have been able to utilise our industry expertise in freight forwarding and parcel delivery to facilitate this expedition. We feel privileged to be partners in what – from both a scientific research and a logistics perspective – is such an exciting endeavour. Everyone at Transglobal Express wishes The Coldest Journey team the best of luck, both with the expedition and with reaching their fundraising goals for such a worthy cause. We look forward to returning your equipment to the UK safely when your journey is complete.”

The Coldest Journey commenced on 21st March and is scheduled to conclude by 21st September 2013. You can follow the Ice Team’s Progress and view photographs of some of their impressive equipment via their blog: http://www.thecoldestjourney.org/blog.
