Artist Valerie Walden to Hold Demonstrations at West Austin Studio Tour April 27-May 5, 2013

Austin, TX, April 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- As a featured artist in the second annual West Austin Studio Tour (WEST), Valerie Walden will be holding plein air painting demonstrations at Capital Fine Arts gallery on each of the four tour dates. Some of the paintings will be available for sale. And, her completed work will be available at the gallery.

Ms. Walden observed, “I really enjoy plein air painting. You can see how a piece progresses relatively quickly from concept to sketch to form to finale. So, I want to share that experience with the patrons attending WEST. And, I’ll be painting in smaller sizes which will allow me to complete several different works throughout the weekends.

“The area on West 6th Street surrounding the gallery has several vantage points for focused scenes. In addition to the concentration of structures, it’s also fascinating to depict how nature thrives in an urban area. Plus, I will still be close to my exhibit at Capital Fine Art, and I can discuss it in detail with interested visitors.”

James Bollmeyer, owner of Capital Fine Art said, “We’re enthusiastic participants in WEST. And, we’re going beyond the observational. Ms. Walden’s demonstrations will make the viewing experience more interactive. We look forward to meeting new visitors.”

The West Austin Studio Tour is a free, city-wide initiative. The tour takes place April 27 & 28 and May 4 & 5, 2013 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Ms. Walden’s demonstration painting schedule will vary and will be posted daily at Capital Fine Art gallery and on her website: www.waldenart.com .
