OSD Audio Adds iPod Ready Wireless Outdoor Speaker
Responding to customer requests for outdoor audio with iPod connectivity, the all-weather WPA650s combine the latest transmission technologies with high end audio components for excellent sound quality.

Priced under $250 and available in black or white, the new model is part of the company’s expanding line of wireless speakers that cater to iPod and other mobile music devices such as Android.

Like all OSD Audio wireless speakers, the WPA650 wireless patios use a 2.4 GHz transmitter that includes an RCA to mini input. Users simply connect their iPod to the transmitter via the included cable and within minutes are listening to their iTunes library on the wireless outdoor speakers. “Customers often think it’s a difficult process until we explain how easy it is,” notes Leahy. “We’ve seen a big increase in our outdoor wireless speaker sales because of this.”
Similar to OSD Audio’s wired outdoor speakers, the WPA650s install easily under patio eaves and mounting hardware is included. An 8-channel transmitter sends the audio signal to the wireless receiver built into the main patio speaker, and users can connect mobile devices via the included audio cables.
The 2.4 GHz-2.48 GHz frequency is less likely to experience interference from other wireless devices like cordless phones, and range is steady up to 300 feet unobstructed. Inside each all-weather enclosure is a 6.5” polypropylene woofer, 1” aluminum soft dome aluminum tweeter and a complex crossover system that produces remarkably full sound.
