BlueStar Launches Mobile Advantage Program to Drive Sales of the Motorola MC35

BlueStar's Mobile Advantage program allows BlueStar VARs to provide a total solution which includes a mobile computer, data and voice plans from AT&T Wireless, and a variety of vertical industry software applications for industries such as field service, sales force automation, and public safety.

Florence, KY, August 17, 2007 --(PR.com)-- BlueStar, the leading innovator in solutions-based distribution for Auto ID, Point-of-Sale, Mobility and RFID products, is announcing the introduction of the Mobile Advantage Program to drive sales of the recently released Motorola MC35 Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA), a durable all-in-one communication device that provides voice, and mobilizes data applications. Mobile Advantage allows BlueStar customers to provide a total solution which includes the mobile computer, data and voice plans from AT&T Wireless, and a variety of vertical industry software applications for industries such as field service, sales force automation, and public safety.

The Motorola MC35 EDA combines the power of a mobile phone, computer, and camera with bar code reading capability in a compact, durable form factor. With support for multiple wireless radios, the MC35 EDA supports: Edge/GPRS networks for data and voice, 802.11b/g WLAN for communication within the four walls of the enterprise, GPS functionality for location-based services, and Bluetooth v 1.2 for voice over Bluetooth (VoBT) and wireless connection to peripherals. The device includes a 2.8-in. color display and runs on the Windows Mobile 5.0 Premium Phone Edition operating system, using Intel's XScale PXA270 416 MHz processor.

Designed with commercial users in mind, the Motorola MC35 EDA is a durable communication device operating on the AT&T wireless network. Four key differentiators of the MC35 are: Extended product availability (two-year lifecycle); durable construction including a 3-ft drop-to-tile specification supplemented by Motorola’s available Service from the Start program; product manageability through the Mobility Services Platform (MSP); and bar code reading through the camera. The durability provides a longer product life than most consumer devices. Additional features include a 2-Megapixel color camera that can read 1D and 2D barcodes, built-in GPS that can provide turn-by-turn directions, and push-to-talk capabilities.

“The release of the Motorola MC35 EDA starts a new generation of commercial-grade Enterprise Digital Assistants that will be used in markets not yet tapped by current rugged mobile computers or consumer-grade smart phones,” explains Greg Seelbach, BlueStar’s Director of Market Development. “Mobile Advantage enables technology providers to provide a complete mobile package without the need to go to multiple vendors.”

“BlueStar is a valued PartnerSelect distributor partner that is committed to delivering enterprise mobility solutions that connect people to business-critical resources wherever they are,” says Brian Viscount, vice president of mobile computing product marketing, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions. “BlueStar understands mobile professionals in the commercial and field services space and how the MC35 EDA meets their needs for voice, messaging, enterprise applications and wireless connectivity in a durable device.”
