Design Store to Debut "Traveling Museum Picnic" Luggage at the A + D Celebrate 2013 Gala in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA, May 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Fitzsu Society, an online portal dedicated to spotlighting modern design, is proud to present the Traveling Museum Picnic, a unique carry-on that will be unveiled on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the A + D Celebrate 2013 Gala in Los Angeles. True to the spirit of the Architecture and Design Museum event, which aims to bring together an international community of creative leaders and thinkers, this one-of-a-kind luggage contains pieces crafted by an array of world-class designers, including Timo Sarpaneva, Alvar Aalto, Antonio Citterio, Joe Colombo, Richard Meier, Peter Raacke and more.

Curated by Fitzsu, the Traveling Museum Picnic contains the essentials for entertaining a picnic party of four, including: Timo Sarpaneva dinnerware, Joe Colombo glasses, Peter Raacke flatware, an Ettore Sottsass condiment set, a Marcel Wanders wine coaster, a Eric Magnussen vacuum jug, and an Alvar Aalto vase. It will be showcased in a collection of over 40 other carry-ons created by artists, architects and designers at the gala.

“The Traveling Museum Picnic is symbolic of our original concept for the Fitzsu Society, which was developed while picnicking in the Pyrenees on our honeymoon,” stated Su Sazama, who co-founded Fitzsu Society with her husband Fitz in 1992. “Since then, we have created the Living Design Store, an environment where we live, use and exhibit the modern design tools we love. They are tried and true by us for both beauty and function. But why limit dinnerware to a dining room? A picnic, like this one-of-a-kind case, offers a unique opportunity to transport these items and appreciate them in a new setting.”

Fitzsu travels around the world to visit studios, factories and designers, in order to curate a collection of the highest quality products of modern design. The Traveling Museum Picnic case, which features a white imprint of the world’s continents stamped upon a black background, reflects this commitment to international excellence. Designed by Fitzsu, the case is also representative of the design store’s global community of designers and customers.
