Motorcyclists Top $343,000 to Help Cure Kids

Motorcyclists gather in three states to help cure the kids.

Asheville, NC, May 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Ride for Kids spanned across the United States on May 5, with events in Albuquerque, Los Angeles and the North Carolina Triangle area. Riders gathered to raise more than $343,000 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, with more funds coming in over the next 30 days.

A total of 20 young brain tumor survivors, along with their families, were on hand for the three rides.

Making life better for these Ride for Kids Stars is the reason motorcyclists across the country ride for the PBTF, which funds medical research and family support programs to help eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors.

“[The children] have been through a lot and they’ve suffered a lot,” said Dr. Sridharan Gururangan at the N.C. Triangle ride. “We are finding cures every day, but we couldn’t do it without the money [Ride for Kids] raises.”

The Albuquerque, Los Angeles and N.C. Triangle events are still collecting donations online at www.rideforkids.org. Fundraisers will receive incentive credit through June 5.
