Orlando, FL, May 08, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- Robbie was a college student when he met Sebastian while both working at a popular Myrtle Beach vacation spot. From the beginning, the two were an unlikely pair. Robbie was a reserved individual eager to get on with his life and career. Fun-loving, friendly, garrulous and larger than life, Sebastian had never met a stranger and, being nearly twenty-five years older, quickly took Robbie under his wing. Their camaraderie as co-workers and the countless hours spent toiling over life and worldly problems translated into a long and lasting friendship.
Years came and went. Sebastian and Robbie each confronted their own challenges in life. From Sebastian’s forced retirement due to health issues to Robbie’s entrepreneurial endeavors and broken hearts, the one constant in life was their friendship. Playing billiards or sipping wine at their favorite watering holes was more than just a way to mark time.
Wherever they went, they were sure to find a long, comfortable bench out front where they could sit and talk for hours on end, reminiscing on old times, facing new problems, solving the global economy, conversing about life in general and sharing wit and wisdom. Never without something to say or some lesson to share, Sebastian would share a wisdom gained through his own unique life experiences—from growing up in the segregated South to making his way in the world amidst a deep recession to finding his place in the world to searching for purpose.
Conversations on the Bench is a compilation of several dozen of Sebastian’s life lessons. Filled with everything from how to negotiate a business deal to how to get the best service at a restaurant, Conversations on the Bench is not only a fitting tribute to Sebastian’s words of wisdom, but a primer for life itself.
Mr. Cartwright made the following comments upon release of the cover of his upcoming novel at a small gathering of friends and associates in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina:
“I’m very excited about the upcoming release of Conversations on the Bench, which was inspired by actual events. It’s really an uplifting and touching story of two friends who through a series of conversations happen to enrich each other’s lives and bring tremendous meaning and purpose. That fact that I got to write this about people I actually know is even more special. You’ll be hearing a lot more about this in the coming weeks, and I hope that you will all put this on your reading list. It has something for everyone. And I’d like to let everyone know that I will be donating a portion of the proceeds from sales though my website, www.DiggerCartwright.com, to an endowed scholarship at Coastal Carolina University. Thank you all.”
Conversations on the Bench will be available in hardback, paperback, and e-book format through Digger Cartwright’s website, www.DiggerCartwright.com, on-line booksellers and bookstores. The release date of the novel is anticipated to be late March.
