America's first health and fitness talk show, "Fitness From the Ground Up" aims to help viewers wade through the muck and mire of misinformation about how to achieve health and fitness. Hosted by internationally reknowned sports Kinesiologist, Zig Ziegler and Debbe Dunning, formerly costarring as Heidi-The Tool Time Girl on ABC's 1990's #1 sitcom, Home Improvement. The pair make for a funny combination delivering serious content about health and fitness.

Scottsdale, AZ, May 16, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Fitness from the Ground Up is a new health and fitness talk show that will feature celebrity guests and experts discussing current topics related to sports, fitness, exercise, health, nutrition and personal development. What makes this show different is that Fitness from the Ground Up will utilize technology along with expert advice to help guests improve their individual health, fitness level, sports performance and even lose weight. The series is hosted by Zig Ziegler, one of the nation’s top sports and fitness experts specializing in Kinesiology and Debbe Dunning, co-star of ABC Home Improvement.

Debbe who played “Heidi the Tool Time Girl” on the number one rated sitcom was a popular fixture while co-starring with Tim Allen. On Fitness From the Ground Up, Debbe will bring her personal experience as a mom and fitness enthusiast to complement Zig’s fitness background. Zig has spent over 20 years assessing the biomechanics of over 50,000 people ranging from everyday people who want to get in shape to some of the world’s greatest professional athletes including Shaquille O’Neal, Anquan Boldin, and Ryan Howard. Fitness from the Ground Up will film its pilot episode on May 30, 2013 at starting at 5:00 PM at “The Venue,” located at 7117 E. 3rd Avenue in Scottsdale, AZ.

Fitness from the Ground Up will educate viewers on how to address their own issues in order to improve their lives physically and emotionally. “Every aspect of your life is affected by your body’s physical response to the stresses acting upon it, regardless of whether those stresses are physical, emotional, or financial,” said Zig. “Every person’s situation regardless of how similar it is to another person’s situation is different. And unlike what we read in books and magazines, or hear on the news, every situation requires a different treatment.”

The pilot episode, called The Concussion Epidemic: Revealing a Solution, will be filmed in front of a live studio audience consisting of over 200 athletes, parents and coaches of football, girls soccer and other sports who have been impacted by concussions. Dozens of former professional athletes are expected to attend. Scheduled on camera guests include Seth Joyner, former Arizona Cardinal and 1991 Sports Illustrated Player of the Year; Dr. Javier Cardenas, Director of Concussion Research at Barrow Neurological Institute; Jamir Miller, former Arizona Cardinal and 10 year veteran NFL player; and Derek Loville, 11 year veteran NFL running back and three-time Super Bowl Champion.

“Each person moves through life in a way that is unique to their own strengths, weaknesses, physical limitations and abilities. No two people move in the same way or can accomplish the same task in the same way. We are different but society, medicine, even our school systems force individualism into the same box,” Zig added. “It’s time for a culture change in many areas of our lives. Fitness from the Ground Up will help viewers identify their own unique differences to solve individualized challenges they face in their own lives.”

All day prior to the show taping and immediately following the show, the Producers will hold part one of a casting call for future episode topics including “Becoming a Women’s Fitness Model”; “Women on Weights”; and “Improving Your Golf Game with Fitness.” Other topics include 1) Solutions for Low Back Pain, 2) Relieving Chronic Pain and Injuries to Joints 3) Eliminating Running Related Injuries, 4) Ladies!
