DoubleTree by Hilton Denver Properties Join the Metro Denver Hotel Association and Volunteers of America to Benefit the Brandon Center

Denver, CO, May 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- On Friday, May 17, volunteers from DoubleTree by Hilton Denver—Stapleton North will join over 100 volunteers from the Metro Denver Hotel Association (MDHA) and Volunteers of America (VOA) to dedicate their day of service to benefit the local Brandon Center.

Brandon Center is a 117-bed facility for women and children experiencing domestic violence or homelessness. The facility offers a range of services including food, accommodations, and counseling and educational support ranging from individual counseling sessions to lessons on domestic violence and GED tutoring. Brandon Center provides the opportunity for each woman to develop short- and long-term goals that will assist her in taking steps toward self-sufficiency. Through the community outreach project, volunteers will help refresh the center by repainting all interior hallways, doors and trim, along with staircase railings and interior staircase. The team of volunteers will also help to reorganize the clothing bank.

“With the big success of the Family Motel project last year, we are very excited to partner with the Volunteers of America again for our second annual community outreach project, with a common goal of creating a warm and welcoming environment for the residents at the Brandon Center,” said Matthew Anderson, general manager for the DoubleTree by Hilton Denver—Stapleton North and MDHA Chair. “This event holds true to DoubleTree by Hilton’s industry-recognized service culture, which is built around the idea of CARE (Create a Rewarding Experience) for guests, team members and the community.”

The community outreach project is a celebration of Hilton’s year-round commitment to volunteer service, which was built on founder Conrad N. Hilton's legacy of service and responsibility to others. The project will come to life with support from more than 100 volunteers from local hotels and business including: DoubleTree by Hilton Denver - Stapleton North, DoubleTree by Hilton Denver, the Curtis - a DoubleTree by Hilton, Embassy Suites Denver Southeast, Grand Hyatt Denver, Magnolia Hotel Denver, Hotel Teatro, Colorado Mountain Express, Vail Resorts, Pioneer Chauffeured Service, Crime Scene Cleaners, Cintas Hospitality, Belfor, Professional Restoration, Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association, Seagren Construction, LLC, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, OZ Architecture, A & Z Painting, Kwal Paint, Benjamin Moore Paint and Ponderosa Paint Center, Sherman Williams Paint, Home Depot and Robinson Dairy.

“I am so proud of our Denver hotel teams and community partners for helping make this amazing transformation happen,” said Matthew Anderson, general manager for the Doubletree by Hilton Denver- Stapleton North and MDHA Chair. “We are honored to work alongside the employees of the Brandon Center. Their dedication to help change the lives of the women and families at the Brandon Center is a true inspiration.”
