Beau Dunn Teams Up with BEARPAW for Side Project

Citrus Heights, CA, May 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- BEARPAW Footwear, a global leader in footwear, collaborates with Hollywood “it” girl Beau Dunn for the second installment of the SIDE Project, as part of the art initiative Creative Expressions by BEARPAW. The SIDE Project is the brand’s initiative to partner with individuals with talents in the music, athletic and entertainment worlds, but also have a deeply intrinsic passion for art.

Dunn’s 5-piece collection will be auctioned off to support The Art of Elysium, a non-profit organization that Dunn has worked with for several years. The model and actress, who, prior to the collaboration, was a long time BEARPAW fan, explains, “I was really excited about the opportunity to incorporate all my favorite things into one…this was a no brainer to me.” “The decision to partner with Beau was easy,” echoes BEARPAW CEO Tom Romeo. “She’s already part of the BEARPAW family…it’s all coming full circle,” Romeo explains.

Dunn, whose penchant for the arts spreads well beyond acting, took on the project with open arms. The avid painter and mixed media artist had never worked on shoes before and says the project, “was a really fun and interesting process.” After BEARPAW approached Dunn to design a special grouping, she decided to go with a high heel concept and drew from her favorite heels for inspiration.

Dunn has worked closely with children with serious illnesses at The Art of Elysium for many years, and has too been diagnosed with the disease Lipdema since 2011. “Working with the children at The Art of Elysium has been life changing. Battling with illness myself, I can relate on many levels and together we share our love for the arts. It's extremely therapeutic for all,” says the star.

The shoes are currently being auctioned on Ebay. A full interview with Beau Dunn about the collaboration can be viewed at www.BEARPAWStyle.com.

About The Art of Elysium
The Art of Elysium is a "Full-Circle" model for non-profit fundraising. By enlisting the unique talents of actors, directors, musicians, writers, fine artists, and fashion designers, the foundation brings the healing power of art into the lives of children suffering from critical illness. With the help of volunteer support, and the strategic investment of time and energy into profitable artistic endeavors, it does so in a way that is cost-efficient, sustainable and artistically compelling. The four, year-round programs that constitute the Full-Circle model are: Elysium Collections (fashion design), Elysium Project (fine arts), Elysium Sessions (music), and Elysium Industry (film and theatre). Each provides free programming for hospitalized children by working artists, and offers platforms for those artists to showcase their talent and support the organization financially. http://www.theartofelysium.org/
