William Peace University Names Nancy Eaton Welch as Registrar

Four-Year Baccalaureate University Expands Academic Affairs Department with the Hiring of 30-Year Industry Veteran.

Raleigh, NC, May 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that Nancy Eaton Welch will serve as registrar. In her role, Welch will be responsible for compiling and maintaining all student records in compliance with federal, state and accreditation laws. Additionally, she will work closely with faculty and staff in preparation for graduation, perform degree audits, and collaborate with faculty and the academic affairs department on how to improve processes that best accommodate the needs of the university’s students.

With 30 years of professional experience in higher education, Welch has worked with a diverse population of students in undergraduate and graduate programs in technical schools, private, for-profit and most recently at an Ivy League school in New England. During her career, she has progressed from counselor to assistant, associate and ultimately director of the office of financial aid and registrar.

Welch’s professional affiliations include the Vermont Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA), where she served as president, Eastern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (EASFAA), where she chaired the membership committee and worked on the conference committee, New Hampshire Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NHASFAA), National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) and American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). She earned her Bachelor of Arts in American literature from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt., followed by graduate work in education at St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt. Welch completed the HERS (Higher Education Resource Services) Institute, a program that provides an intensive 12-day curriculum that prepares women faculty and administrators for institutional leadership roles, at Wellesley College in Wellesley, Mass.
