Author and “America’s #1 Latino Success Coach” Don Daniel Ortiz is the executive producer and host of the show.
According to Ortiz, “The great ‘Untold Story’ in American today is that Latinos are achieving the ‘American Dream’ in greater numbers by choosing the entrepreneur path and going into business for themselves. According to the U.S. Census Bureau Latino-owned businesses are the fastest growing segment among small businesses, growing by nearly 44% to nearly 2.3 million since 2002. Latinos are starting businesses at a rate four times faster than the population at large, according to the S.B.A., and Hispanic women, in particular, are six times more likely to start a business. The Bureau reports that as of 2010 there were 29,184 Latino-owned firms in the U.S. with receipts of $1 million or more.
“My goal for the program,” says Ortiz, “is to celebrate the achievements of successful Latino business owners and to inspire the next generation of Latino entrepreneurs who dream of going into business for themselves. Starting a business is not easy, you have to face risks and be willing to accept many setbacks, but knowing how others with a similar background have succeeded despite the challenges is inspiring.”
