CSU Industries Relocates Its Headquarters to State-of-the Art Facility in New York

Expanded space reflects company’s growth as a third-party maintenance provider for critical IT systems; Relocation professionally executed with zero customer downtime

Inwood, NY, May 29, 2013 --(PR.com)-- CSU Industries, a leading provider of critical IT support services, quality IT equipment and solution designs, announced today that the company’s US headquarters has been relocated to an expanded facility in Inwood, New York.

The relocation was facilitated by CSU’s own Professional Services (ProServ) team, which drew on its decades of experience in data center relocations to execute the move flawlessly. A strategic relocation plan was put in place, exactly as is done for customer projects. The system administrators conducted a controlled failover to the backup site and confirmed that all services were running well. The ProServ team then confirmed with all CSU departments that their applications and services were fully functional. At that point, an orderly shutdown of all servers and switches at the primary site was performed, and a CSU SAN engineer powered down the SAN.

The ProServ team then systematically de-racked and packed the equipment for secure transport. The team had already built rack, power, and cabling infrastructure at the new location and all cables and rack locations had been labeled and prepared. CSU had also prepared the team with rack elevation and cabling diagrams to follow. The equipment was transported by a dedicated secure point-to-point courier and met the team at the new headquarters location. Once there, the ProServ team inspected the equipment to ensure it arrived undamaged. The equipment was then unpacked, racked, and cabled per the diagrams and labels.

With Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V Replica, CSU was able to fail back in a controlled manner. Once the equipment was racked, the SAN engineers powered on and tested the SAN and associated infrastructure. The CSU sys admins powered on the switches and servers, keeping in mind particular interdependencies. CSU ran extensive testing to ensure the new environment was suitable to act as the production site. Once all tests passed, the team conducted a controlled fail-back. This process reverse replicates CSU’s virtual machines back to the primary site. As soon as both sites were synched, production was then transferred back to the new location without any downtime.

“Before Hurricane Sandy last year, we completed a build out of a Windows Server 2012 Private Cloud. All of our production applications, servers, and databases replicate to our backup site,” explained Matt Seif, VP of CSU Industries. “We were able to shut down everything at our home office and continue to operate from the DR site. I am proud that CSU was able to provide uninterrupted service for our clients throughout our entire relocation.”

CSU’s new headquarters is located at 15 Hoover Street in Inwood, NY. For more information about CSU and its Professional Relocation Services, visit www.csuindustries.com.
