Springfield, MA, June 05, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), the nation’s leading organization focused on promoting entrepreneurship through community colleges, has undertaken its first online training initiative with the launch of the “HowToDoIt Kit.” This six-week online educational program prepares community college educators and administrators for planning, launching, and scaling entrepreneurship programs on their campuses.
Following a successful pilot course this spring, the online course will again be offered from July 8 to August 30 and from October 21 to December 13. The special pilot program pricing of $399 for NACCE members and $499 for nonmembers has been extended to the July 8-August 30 training.
"The ‘HowToDoIt Kit’ online course is a great way to get started with entrepreneurship programs on your campus," said course creator Amy Valente, who is a 2013 NACCE Fellow who teaches Business at Cayuga Community College in Auburn, NY. "Students will be learning best practices in entrepreneurship education, sharing ideas with like-minded individuals from across the country and ultimately creating a specific action plan that can be used on their own campus. The online course is flexible, collaborative and action oriented and can be completed in six weeks."
Course components covered in the program includes Entrepreneurship in the Community College;
Entrepreneurship Education Unveiled; Supporting Entrepreneurship Students; Entrepreneurs: Myths & Challenges; Funding the Entrepreneurship Agenda; Marketing Your Efforts; and Building Support & Staying Relevant.
Participants in the pilot program had nothing but raves to report about the training. “The ‘HowToDoIt’ course was the best experience I’ve had with a comprehensive course,” said course participant Laura Manyweather, an adjunct professor of Business at Los Angeles Southwest College. “I learned so much in this course. I have infused many of my lessons in my teachings and have gotten positive feedback; I have emails to prove it. The ideas and strategies used simply pull what you already have in you out and take you to the next level.”
