Austin, TX, June 06, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- A new online boutique launches in Austin, Texas for the age old hot climate accessory, parasols. Hooplaparasols.com
, owned by Tillie Policastro, longtime Austin resident, is attempting to "bring back the parasol." The climate in Austin, Texas, with it's year-round sunny days, inspired the creation of the boutique. The last few summers in Texas have seen record-breaking temperatures, with August of 2011 being the hottest on record. Sightings of parasols are becoming more common yet there was no place to purchase parasols in Austin. Policastro set out to find fashionable and stylish parasols that make a fashion statement and, at the same time, provide shade from the intense summer sun. Because this need extends beyond Austin, the boutique ships both nationally and internationally.
The new boutique carries a small line of imported parasols from around the world and focuses on those with a vintage retro feel. "In keeping with the style of vintage fashion, we want to glamourize the returned use of the parasol, and offer ones which are reminiscent of Hollywood's Golden Age – parasols that make you feel like Marilyn Monroe," says Policastro. "When you carry a parasol, you have that extra protection where you need it most, your face and neck. It doesn't hurt that it makes you feel stylish, fun and entirely unique." The boutique is open for online business and is planning to do small pop-up shows throughout Austin, such as South Congress' First Thursday event.
