The Pueblo of Santa Ana, NM, June 07, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- The fun begins Thursday, June 13.
The Stage @ Santa Ana Star will be serving up something new on its entertainment menu, in the form of comedy acts appearing in the club every Thursday night beginning June 13th.
A wide variety of comics will be featured, filling a void in regular comedy performances in the greater Albuquerque area with the closing of Laffs comedy club more than four years ago.
“Stand-up comedy will be a great addition to the entertainment lineup at The Stage,” said John Cirrincione, Santa Ana Star Casino General Manager. “There is no other place in Albuquerque people can go on a Thursday night and see quality comedy,” he added.
Jim Holder, Peter Barrera and Curt Fletcher will be the first comedians to appear at The Stage.
Holder started his career at The Comedy Workshop along with Sam Kinison and Bill Hicks. Holder strikes incredibly close to home with his cynical descriptions of everyday subjects.
Barrera has been described by The Dallas Morning News as "The Next Face To Watch In Comedy." In just a short time, Barrera has already earned a reputation for causing sidesplitting comedy through razor sharp sarcasm about the world around him.
Fletcher began his comedy career four years into his promising pizza delivery career, realizing he could deliver punchlines faster than pizza. He is known for his deadpan delivery, and was the winner of the 2003 Great Southwest Laff Off.
“These guys are hilarious,” said Cirrincione. “And I can’t think of a better way to inaugurate our Thursday night comedy series than with his particular brand of humor. The crowds are in for a real treat,” he said. “The party is definitely at The Stage!”
The Stage @ Santa Ana Star opened to the public May 3, 2013, featuring local and regional bands, as well as top DJs. The two-level venue, which measures at just over 11,000 square feet, features a semi-private seating design, custom modular furniture, and delightful design details throughout. The second floor, Sky Level, is accessible via a stunning LED-lit elevator adorned with glass tile accents, or a beautiful chrome and glass staircase backlit by the exterior of the elevator. Sky Level is perfect for private parties, and it features a full bar and dramatic views of the entire venue. The VIP room on the Sky Level is appointed with big-screen HDTVs, along with the leather banquette seating, a private balcony and a full-service bar.
Bar Supervisor Alexandra Edwards and bartender Andre Norris have created a tantalizing selection of handcrafted signature cocktails, and the drink menu also offers microbrews and traditional beers. Wines and champagnes are available by the bottle or by the glass. Executive Chef Angel Joy has designed a delectable menu of light appetizer offerings.
