)-- Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor for Samurai Karate Studio, which is located in Richland Northeast Columbia, South Carolina, announced today that is school was recently awarded a "Making A Difference" Outstanding Community Partner Award from Sandlapper Elementary School, which is part of Richland School District 2.
The award read: "In grateful appreciation for your loyal dedication to Sandlapper Elementary School. Thank you for your many contributions and services. You are a Shining Star!"
"It was really an honor to be recognized and given this award," commented Sensei Feldt, "and I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to work with these students and help them grow their confidence and self esteem!"
During this past year, Sensei Feldt presented several talks on kindness as a form of self defense, taught several classes on non-violent ways to defeat the bully, donated a big box of school supplies and purchased pizzas for the teachers during open house and during one of the teacher workshops.
Sensei Feldt stated, "I would like to thank Principal Hall, the teachers and students for graciously recognizing Samurai Karate Studio. I also would like to give special thanks to Guidance Counselor Barbara Jennings for being so supportive of my work and inviting me into her classroom throughout the year."
Samurai Karate Studio teaches a traditional style of karate to children and adults, beginning at age 4 and up. Our curriculum includes self defense, stranger danger, character development, leadership skills and traditional weapons.
