Harrison College Corporate Partnership Division Announces Partnership With CasperSMSSM

Educational Institution Partners with Short Code Text Message Provider to Connect with Business Partners and Increase Efficiency of Internal and External Communications

Indianapolis, IN, June 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Harrison College (http://www.harrison.edu/), an institution of higher learning with more than 5,000 students studying at 13 campuses and online, has announced the school’s Corporate Partnership division is partnering with CasperSMSSM, a short code text message provider. This relationship will bring Short Message Service (SMS), a text messaging service component of phone, web or mobile communication systems using standardized communications protocols to allow the exchange of short text messages between fixed line or mobile phone devices, to four national and international corporate business partners, improving access and exposure to more than 42,000 employees.

With the rapid evolution of communication, text messaging is quickly replacing email as the standard form of written communication worldwide. With more than six billion SMS messages sent daily in the United States, according to Forrester Research, text messaging provides users with a simple, concise method of communication compatible with every mobile device. SMS messaging is expected to be a $150 billion-a-year industry by the end of 2013.

Through this partnership, Harrison College will provide outbound text messages, alerts, appointment reminders and marketing materials in a direct, one-on-one platform with staff members and corporate business partners affiliated with the school’s Corporate Partnerships division. After significant research and testing, incorporating feedback from its corporate business partners, Harrison College will eventually unveil this feature to its students across all 13 campuses and online. Once available across all campuses, Harrison College will use the SMS service to deploy administrative and security alerts to staff, faculty, administration and current students. Unlike many SMS platforms available today, CasperSMSSM can assign keywords for Harrison College’s social media campaigns, connect interested students with relevant information depending on their likes and interests, and include links back to Harrison College’s website for additional information. Together, Harrison College and CasperSMSSM will be able to reach large contact databases simultaneously, fast and with ease. Internally, Harrison College will use CasperSMSSM to keep lecturers, researchers, corporate partners and administrative staff up to date with news, alerts and useful information.

The system is highly regulated and there is no additional cost to users for the notification service. Standard text messages rates may apply, though, depending on the user’s wireless carrier and service plan.
