Amsterdam, Netherlands, June 16, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- Local Commerce experts are gathering for Europe’s first Local Commerce event hosted in Amsterdam on the 12th of November.
The Event, Loco Connect 2013 will see experts from across Europe come together to discuss market trends and share industry practices.
Local Commerce has seen a significant trend and questions will be answered why Local Commerce will be larger than E-commerce for the next decade.
Over the last two years the Local Commerce space has thrived internationally, with investments up to billions such as in Groupon, Amazon, Yelp, Square and many more. These and the investment and developments in Mobile Payment, Card Linked offers or Loyalty systems have drawn significant attention to the European market.
“It is time that Europe has its first Local Commerce event, bringing together industry leaders so that expertise and guidance can finally be shared,” says Stavros Prodromou, organizer of the Loco Connect 2013. Providers have seen that through collaboration and partnership you can achieve not only a stronger brand, but also a better service to merchants & customers,” Stavros adds.
Speakers confirmed for the event include Kerstin Trikalis, CEO- OutThere Media, Miguel Giribet, Country Manager Spain – Privalia, Lauren Indvik, Associate Editor – Mashable, Mark Henkel, Founder & CEO – Paymill and Steffen W. Frolund, Founder & CEO – Bownty.
Media and online platforms have recognised the potential of local commerce, like Square which is building a recommendation engine in addition to its payments system. Yahoo recently announced that of most of interest for the giant is “localization of the space” especially in providing search and content to consumers. Bol.com and the co operation with Albert Heijn is a good example in the Netherlands of how to tap in the Local Space.
Advertising for merchants & retailers has become much more targeted, with hyperlocal approaches having developed far beyond placing an ad in the paper. This method combines deal incentives with geographical reach via the customer’s postcode.
The event will be held in Amsterdam on 12 November, 2012.
