BBC Media Action Appoints LONO Creative to Visualise an Innovative Climate Change Study

The BBC’s international development charity, BBC Media Action, has commissioned London-based design studio LONO Creative to develop the visual identity for a major research project in Asia.

London, United Kingdom, June 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- For over a decade BBC Media Action has been helping transform lives in some of the poorest, hardest-to-reach parts of the world. The charity uses media and communication to help people access information to inform, connect and empower.

LONO Creative has been tasked to develop BBC Media Action’s visual identity for "Climate Asia." The project spans seven countries and is the largest survey ever undertaken in Asia on people’s experiences and perceptions of climate change. The findings will be made widely available through reports, a data portal and toolkits to help communities and countries cope with and adapt to their changing environment.

James Lonergan, Creative Director at LONO Creative, said: “After winning a competitive pitch process, we’re thrilled to be working with BBC Media Action on an exciting project with a meaningful cause. We look forward to providing the tools that will go on to help communities and make a positive difference to people’s lives in the seven Asian countries.”

Damian Wilson, Project Director for Climate Asia at BBC Media Action added: “One notable design challenge is the sheer volume of data to be visualised: 35,000 people have been surveyed. The design studio’s expertise in data visualisation especially impressed us. LONO Creative has recognised our vision and we look forward to working with them.”

BBC Media Action is an independent charity registered in England and Wales, supported by grants and donations.
