Royal Oaks Homes Completes Fifth Hero Home in Support of Operation: Coming Home

North Carolina Homebuilder Serves as Lead Builder for Custom Home Donated to Disabled Combat Veteran.

Raleigh, NC, June 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Royal Oaks Homes, LLC (http://www.royaloakshomes.com), an award-winning residential new homebuilder, has announced that the company has completed its fifth Hero Home as the lead builders of Operation: Coming Home, a nonprofit organization providing custom-built homes to disabled combat veterans. Rich Van Tassel, president of Royal Oaks Homes and Tim Minton, president of the Operation: Coming Home Foundation and executive vice president of the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County will present U.S. Army Cpl. Cody Stanton with the keys to the customized, new home at a key ceremony on Thursday, June 27 in Holly Springs, N.C.

While serving in Kandahar, Afghanistan in January 2012 with the 21st Military Police Co. from Fort Bragg’s XVIII Airborne Corps, Cpl. Stanton lost both legs in an IED explosion. A Purple Heart recipient, Stanton has since resided at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. This new, specialized home located in Holly Springs’ Forest Springs neighborhood, will allow Stanton to leave the medical center and return to a brand new home specifically created for his needs.

Since Operation: Coming Home started in 2007, Royal Oaks Homes has served as lead builder of four of five projects, as well as in the selection committee that reviews which veteran should receive the home. Royal Oaks designed this uniquely-built home alongside a team of professionals including the Triangle Veterans Association, Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County (HBA) and other local project supporters.

Quotes:
“We are so proud to give back to the brave men and women who have served our country through our support of Operation: Coming Home,” said Rich Van Tassel, president of Royal Oaks Homes. “It is such an honor to be able to present this new home to someone as deserving as U.S. Army Cpl. Cody Stanton, and we hope this new home shows our unending gratitude and appreciation for his tremendous dedication to our country.”
