The Platform Company Score with Aston Villa

Birmingham, United Kingdom, August 26, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Uk’s largest independent powered access provider The Platform Company, were recently called upon by signage specialists Omega Signs, to assist with work at Villa Park, home to Aston Villa Football Club. A Terex 31.5 metre scissor lift was used in the installation of new, modern backlit lettering on the Doug Ellis stand in plenty of time for the premiership clubs new season.

The Platform Company’s Birmingham branch manager Andy Parker said: “The Terex 31.5 metre scissor lift provides a very high working stage and proved to be ideal for the aerial work undertaken by Omega Signs at Aston Villa Football Club. Each of the 22 letters had to be removed and then replaced with the new ones, and as all the letters are over 2 metres in height it was vital that the platform had ample floor area to transport them up and down.”

The new signage arrives after some major change at Villa Park. The club recently said their farewells to long time chairman, 82 year old Doug Ellis, and with the acceptance of a £62.6 million takeover by the American billionaire Randy Lerner, the future looks set to be in good shape.
