ESPN Zone Hosts New Interactive Pro Football Card Game During Pre-Season Match Up

“Tempt Destiny” Card Game Gets Fans Involved and Makes Commercials Count

New York, NY, August 26, 2007 --(PR.com)-- ESPN Zone in Times Square has partnered up with playing card manufacturer, Maveric Inc. for an exclusive introduction of the new pro football card game, “Tempt Destiny.” On August 27 in conjunction with the preseason football game between Cincinnati and Atlanta, fans will have the chance to take part in this one-of-a-kind event and be introduced to the latest trend in sports viewing, according to Susan Abramson, regional marketing manager for ESPN Zone New York.

“We’re always looking for new and creative ways to get our fans involved in the action,” said Abramson. “’Tempt Destiny’ does exactly that. It allows fans to follow along and cheer for every play, even the commercials. We’re excited to see the fans reaction to this imaginative card game.”

“Tempt Destiny” introduces a new era in sports entertainment where devout fans can play along with the football game they are watching. Participants are dealt seven cards, each of which identifies a certain event, such as a touchdown, penalty, quarterback sack, beer commercial, etc. Each event is assigned a point value and players gain points when their card matches the game’s events. The person with the most points at the end of a quarter wins that hand.

ESPN Zone and Maveric Inc. will be giving away thousands of dollars in prizes including four limited edition 24” x 29” original lithographs that commemorate New York’s Super Bowl XXI and XXV victories.

“As an avid football fan and father of four, I needed to spend more time with my family and still be able to watch football,” commented Manuel Morales, creator of “Tempt Destiny.” “Also, commercials have always been a distraction to the game so by including commercials as part of the entertainment the excitement keeps going even when there’s a break in the football action.”
