TLC Show Opens & LA Galaxy Supporter Videos Win International Design Awards

Los Angeles, CA, June 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Show opens for TV network TLC and videos for LA Galaxy supporter group the Angel City Brigade earned four International Design Awards in Broadcast Design for LA motion design studio jonberrydesign.

The show open for "Cheer Perfection," a reality series produced by Authentic Entertainment soon in its second season on TLC, was awarded a Bronze award for Broadcast Design. The 2012 show open revamp of "Toddlers & Tiaras," another series produced by Authentic for TLC, earned a Silver Award for Broadcast Design. In addition to those, two videos produced by jonberrydesign for the LA Galaxy supporter group the Angel City Brigade won awards. The video "Never Stop," produced heading into playoffs for the 2012 MLS Cup, was a Gold award winner, while the ACB video "We Stand for LA" won an honorable mention. All four of these were also honored earlier as winners of Telly Awards for use of graphics in TV or video.

The show open for "Cheer Perfection" is a study in textures and drama to set the tone for the series that focuses on the drama among parents of competitors in a southern cheerleading academy. The open for "Toddlers & Tiaras," the popular, uncompromising but non-judgmental look at the world of child beauty pageants, uses extreme closeups to highlight details that can be seen as either beautiful or unnatural, depending on the viewer's perspective. "The original Toddlers & Tiaras open was a rush project for a one time special, I certainly never expected the show would become the phenomenon that it has. I loved having the chance to update the open and raise the bar on its glitz factor" said creative director Jon Berry.

The videos for Angel City Brigade, or ACB, are part call to arms and part pep rally for fans of 4-time national champion LA Galaxy, but also part love letter to Los Angeles. "Never Stop" highlights ACB's undying loyalty to the team through good and bad, as well as the groups commitment to stand, chant, and sing for every minute of every game. "We Stand for LA" plays on civic pride as well as team pride as a pep talk during a losing part of the team's season. Both videos primarily use the photography of Sylvia Desperto, as well as time lapse footage by Tom Hawkins and Matthew Givot.
