The Vein Forum: A Comprehensive Hands-On Course for Practicing Clinicians will take place on October 11-12 in Boston, MA. The course provides clinicians a unique educational opportunity. State-of-the-art lectures by leaders in venous disease are complemented by hands-on practice with models and edited video presentations. The goal of the course is to educate and update practicing clinicians regarding the latest theories and developments in the clinical practice of vein disease management.

New York, NY, July 01, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The American Venous Forum (AVF) would like to thank Organogenesis for joining Cook Medical Inc., Tactile Systems Technology Inc., Vascular Insights LLC and Volcano Corporation in hosting workshops during The Vein Forum: A Comprehensive Hands-On Course for Practicing Clinicians. The Vein Forum will take place on October 11-12 in Boston, MA. Through the educational grants awarded by these companies, AVF is able to provide clinicians a unique educational opportunity beyond a basic introduction to venous disease. State-of-the-art lectures by leaders in venous disease are complemented by hands-on practice with models, edited video presentations and a limit of 50 registered attendees. The goal of the course is to educate and update practicing clinicians regarding the latest theories and developments in the clinical practice of vein disease management. Clinicians will gain an overall understanding of vein disease to allow them to successfully incorporate venous knowledge, skills and techniques into their overall practice. The Vein Forum will equip clinicians with:

* Knowledge of how to utilize new technologies such as endovenous therapies and foam to treat varicose veins and venous ulcers
* Understanding of the newer technologies of endovenous ablation, pharmacomechanical thrombectomy and tissue substitutes for venous ulcer care
* Tools to improve competence, practice performance and patient outcomes by being more active in the prevention and treatment of DVT/PE
* Proper ultrasound assessment of a patient with venous disease
* Comfort using advanced wound care techniques like synthetic skin substitutes
* How to employ duplex ultrasonography and intra-venous ultrasound in the treatment of CVI and PTS

MOC Level 2 and AMA PRA Category 1 Credits will be provided for this activity pending CME approval.
