19” Square Glass Fusing Clamshell Kilns from Paragon

Among the newest kilns from Paragon are the 19” square CS-19D and CS-19S clamshell glass kilns. The firing chambers of these models lift out of the way so glass designs can be assembled directly inside the kiln.

Mesquite, TX, July 13, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Paragon Industries is now producing 19” square x 6 1/2” deep clamshell glass fusing kilns. A ceramic fiber roof with embedded heating elements is standard on these models.

The CS-19S and CS-19D are called clamshell kilns, because the hinged firing chamber lifts off the kiln floor. The kiln lifts out of the way so glass can be assembled inside the kiln. Add delicate stringers and frit to designs on the kiln shelf.

The lid and walls of the CS-19S (single opening) are one unit. The lid of the CS-19D (dual opening) can open separately from the walls. You can open the CS-19D by lifting the kiln body and lid together or by lifting only the lid. Lift the kiln body out of the way to assemble glass directly on the shelf; open the lid to place glass over a slumping mold.

Three counter-weight lid springs are mounted under the base. The top of the lid is protected with a painted sheet metal cover. Small bead annealing doors and a high-temperature 2” x 2” glass window are optional on the CS-19S (but not the SC-19D).
