William Peace University Announces Plans to Open Two New On-Campus Educational Labs

Four Year Baccalaureate University Reveals Plans for New Science Lab and Simulation and Game Design Lab Set to Open Fall 2013.

Raleigh, NC, July 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced the addition of two educational labs, one for its science courses and the other for its simulation and game design major, which are scheduled to open fall 2013. Both labs will be housed in William Peace University’s Pressly Arts and Science Building.

The new science lab will host classes for ecology, botany, histology, biology and physics. A longstanding required course for all students in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in biology, the university’s physics class is designed for students to develop a conceptual understanding of the laws of nature through lectures, demonstrations and discussions. In the new lab, students will have an opportunity to enhance their learning experience on campus through experiments and hands-on interaction with chemicals.

Additionally, William Peace University has expanded its offerings for students in pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts in simulation and game design, one of the university’s most recent degree offerings. This lab will facilitate collaboration and learning in art, design, 3D modeling, integrated media and software used to develop video games and simulation training programs. The program itself is two years away from graduating its first class, and it is specifically directed toward meeting the needs of tech savvy students focused on enhancing their virtual prowess and launching a career in industries including homeland security, healthcare education and defense.

Townsley, Ph.D., president of William Peace University. “Each of our academic departments is fully committed to providing students with comprehensive learning, as we recognize there are occasions when students need to step outside of the traditional classroom format to broaden their knowledge. The new labs will open the door for students to interact with education in a whole new way, and I look forward to watching the changes unfold.”
