With Expansion to Philadelphia, Pittsburgh's Strada Grows Expertise and Increases Capabilities Nationwide

Multi-disciplinary architecture firm with strong expertise in architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and urban planning will add a dynamic range of building types to its portfolio and enhanced set of services from laboratory design to exhibit design.

Pittsburgh, PA, July 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Strada, a multi-disciplinary architecture firm based in Pittsburgh, announces its acquisition of Philadelphia’s UJMN Architects + Designers (UJMN), effective July 15, 2013. Strada is a collaborative, integrated team of expert architects, interior designers, landscape architects and urban planners with a diverse portfolio of projects. This alliance will grow Strada’s core services and augment its capabilities. The comprehensive design firm will operate offices in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, servicing clients nationwide.

“As always, Strada will create exceptional places and provide unparalleled service to our clients and their colleagues,” says Strada principal Edward A. Shriver, FAIA, “Working closely as one, unified firm, Strada will offer an array of integrated design services under one banner and continue to encourage the free exchange of ideas in order to strengthen the fundamental infrastructure of our communities.”

Strada will continue to pursue the core projects that have traditionally been its focus, such as retail and corporate development, historic and neighborhood preservation, public landscapes, higher education, and sustainable design. Now the firm will also pursue projects and creative services that have been the concentration of UJMN’s practice for over 46 years. These include science and technology facilities, research park buildings, museums and visitor centers, as well as exhibit and graphic design services.

“UJMN is delighted to join forces with Strada,” states UJMN principal Robert W. McCauley, AIA. “This new alliance is built on a shared commitment to the same goals and values. The high level of quality that our clients have come to expect from us will now be even more robust as we move forward as the newest members of the Strada team.”

Founded in 2000, Strada is an industry leader in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and urban planning, with projects ranging from Pittsburgh’s Market Square Place and Rivers Casino to West Virginia University’s College of Law. UJMN was founded in 1967 and has designed notable projects such as Philadelphia’s Liberty Bell Center Exhibits, La Salle University Center for Science and Technology, and the LEED-Platinum Renovation of Friends Center.
