Northside Music and Arts Festival Returns for Third Year

Non-profit offers music and art opportunities for local families

Minneapolis, MN, July 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- In its third year, the Northside Music and Arts Festival will offer a performance of The Ugly Duckling on Saturday, July 27 at North Commons Park in North Minneapolis. The Minnesota Sinfonia will be performing this beloved story with students from the Lundstrum Center for the Arts.

Joining in the festivities will be award winning and Minnesota-based R&B, soul and jazz group The Sounds of Blackness. Additional family-friendly music and art activities will be offered during the festival as well as snacks.

The Northside Music and Arts Festival is made possible due to sponsorships by the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Legacy Amendment, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Pohlad Family Foundation. Various community members and organizations including the YMCA, Neighborhood Health Services and the Minneapolis Public Schools also support the festival.

All festival activities will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27 at North Commons Park, 1801 James Ave North, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55411. Admission and participation is free for all members of the family. Be sure to arrive early, as all concert are first-come, first-seated.
