Nissan North America Inc. Joins Military Home Makeover Series as Presenting Sponsor on Designing Spaces™ on Lifetime TV

“Designing Spaces of Hope-Project Homeward Bound” renovates house for soldier injured in Iraq, and his family.

Pompano Beach, FL, July 26, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Popular home improvement show Designing Spaces™ airing on Lifetime Television has teamed up with Nissan North America, Inc. for the “Designing Spaces of Hope - Project Homeward Bound” series, slated to air in late September 2013.

The three-part series “Project Homeward Bound” presented by Nissan, is about the renovation of a house for wounded veteran Jeff Taylor and his family who are currently living in a mobile home. Private First Class Taylor was critically injured during the Operation Iraqi Freedom invasion when his crew’s vehicle came under mortar attack just outside the Bagdad Airport, causing it to roll over into a canal and trap Jeff under it. Rescued but left with a crushed leg, nerve damage and hearing loss, Jeff struggles daily to get around in the mobile home that is also cramped quarters for his wife, son and two daughters.

Viewers will be taken on a step-by-step journey to see how the house, matched to the family by Purple Heart Homes, an organization that matches purple heart recipients to donated or foreclosed-on homes, is completely transformed in every living space to become the family’s dream home.

Nissan North America, focused on giving back to communities and charitable organizations associated with the military, will be on hand to drive the makeover by providing cars and trucks to move, haul, carry and distribute products, and bring the Taylor family to their new home.

“We are thrilled that Nissan has joined Project Homeward Bound as our valued presenting sponsor for this inspiring series. I know everyone involved will truly appreciate Nissan’s contributions of vehicles to help keep the makeover running smoothly and get the Taylor’s into their new home as soon as possible,” says Lysa Liemer, Executive VP of Programming and Chief Operating Officer of Designing Spaces™ on Lifetime TV.
