Guinness World Record for Fastest Indoor Ironman Attempt by a 2Toms Athlete

Tony Rich, a 2Toms endurance athlete, to attempt Guinness World Record for fastest indoor Ironman and raise funds for a Boston charity.

Dublin, NH, July 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- 2Toms, makers of blister, chafing, and odor prevention products, is proud to sponsor Tony Rich, a 2Toms endurance athlete in his attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the fastest indoor Ironman.

This is Rich’s 2nd Indoor Ironman and first Guinness World Record attempt. The Ironman will take place on August 3, 2013 at the Oak Square YMCA in Brighton, Massachusetts to benefit the 2013 Oak Square YMCA Reach Out Campaign.

“Tony Rich is an exceptional endurance athlete,” says Katie Smith, 2Toms Director of Operations. “We’re very excited to sponsor Tony in his Guinness World Record attempt. If anyone can set this record, we know Tony will.”

Rich started his career as an endurance athlete over 10 years ago. He has completed over 100 long course endurance events including numerous 70.3 races, over 30 Marathons (PR 3:14:46) of which, 10 are consecutive Boston Marathon Finishes.

In July 2011, Tony completed his first indoor Ironman and raised $6,000 for the Oak Square YMCA Reach Out Campaign. He swam 169 pool lengths, biked 112 miles on a computrainer and did a treadmill marathon in 10 hours and 13 minutes. This year, in order to set a Guinness World Record for the fastest indoor Ironman, Tony must complete the event in 8 hours, shaving 2 hours off his 2011 time. His new fundraising goal is $10,000.

When asked why he wanted to do a 2nd indoor Ironman, Rich stated, “Helping the people in need in my own community is a cause very important to me.” He added, “Completing an Ironman in 8 hours is a monumental task, but I’m confident I will do it.”

The YMCA will host a silent auction leading up to and ending on the day of the indoor Ironman, August 3, 2013. 2Toms is donating a “Tri-Pack” that includes samples of their anti-chafing and anti-blister products.
