Art Across Cultures Exhibit to Celebrate Cultural Diversity

Chicago, IL, September 02, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Art Across Cultures is an artistic exhibition dedicated to highlighting the diverse offering of artisans across the world. The event strives to present works of art from all continents form artisans of a variety of cultures. The two day exhibit will be held at the Murphy Hill Gallery 3333 West Arthington, Inside the Historic Homan Square Building Third Floor, Chicago, IL on Friday and Saturday September 21st and 22nd. Artists of all cultures are welcome to participate. A spokesperson for the gallery used this description for the event: "The purpose of Art Across Cultures is to present art as a unifying and universal connection between the cultures. The goal is unity through diversity. We live learn and respect the differences that make us unique". The event will feature fine art originals and prints, imported African art, sculpture, photographic art, and hand made jewelry. Highlighting the event will be musical and spoken word performances by Nina Ray on Friday and Paulette “Passion” Stinson on Saturday. The Murphy Hill Gallery is a 10,000 square foot venue for artists of all disciplines. Each month the gallery opens its doors on Friday and Saturday nights to the public, offering a wide variety of contemporary artists, from painting and sculpture to film and spoken word. This gallery is sure to spark the imagination and introduce you to the area artists. Over the past year the gallery has featured the art of Jeffrey Leving, James Scalifani, and many more.
