InTouch CU Congratulates 2013 SCMS Graduates Including Award of Excellence Winner

Plano, TX, August 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- InTouch Credit Union (ITCU) congratulated ITCU employees Millicent Mayaka and James Simpson as they graduated from the Southwest CUNA (Credit Union National Association) Management School (SCMS) on July 17, 2013.

This three-year program features fresh perspectives on credit union management strategies utilizing the hands-on experience of credit union leaders including the completion of strategic plan projects. The program, held at Texas Christian University (TCU), officially commenced its 41st graduating class with students representing credit unions across Texas, surrounding states and as far away as Brazil.

ITCU’s executive leadership was especially proud to see their Assistant Vice President of Regional Branch Operations for Texas, Millicent Mayaka, graduate with the school’s top honor, the Award of Excellence. Amongst the group of 45 students, SCMS faculty only selected seven Honor Graduates, in addition to the sole selection of Mayaka for their highest award. Mayaka has been in the financial services industry for 13 years, beginning her career path with InTouch in 2007 as a Branch Manager.

Fellow 2013 SCMS graduate, James Simpson currently serves as InTouch’s Vice President of Wealth Management. Simpson came to InTouch Credit Union in 2008 and features 15 years of experience in his field. Both Simpson and Mayaka pursued this advanced educational opportunity while maintaining their full-time roles at the credit union.

“We want to congratulate both Millie and James for their exceptional work in the SCMS program. Beyond that, we’d like to thank them for their continued dedication in providing all of ITCU’s membership with top-notch service,” said Diane Gerstner, Executive Vice President of InTouch Credit Union.
